Fender Guitars and the future of music

June 4, 2023

Props and appreciation to Fender Guitars for their back-page ad in The New Yorker's Music Issue. I can’t recall ever seeing a major music manufacturer advertise so prominently in a general interest magazine. This is a continuation of their long-game strategy begun a few years ago to introduce young people and their parents to the idea of playing musical instruments. Hopefully, this will help expand and engage the market of budding musicians.

JangleBox is, nominally, a competitor of Fender, but their campaign is going to help every music manufacturer. It’s wonderful to see a company with Fender’s influence and financial clout commit to a marketing strategy that is aimed at something bigger than next quarter’s profits.
