The Nields are sensational

November 18, 2023

Man, I love The Nields. We saw them last night at Jammin’ Java after a four-year delay (pandemic, covid, scheduling), and they were sensational. Nerissa and Katryna sing like no one else, and their voices together are gorgeous. I'm guessing that has something to do with being siblings with 30+ years of performing together.

Nerissa’s songwriting makes this duo soar — adult reflections on love, loss, wonder, longing, hope, and faith. It’s beautiful music that’s uplifting, eye-opening and fun.  Elizabeth and Nerissa have been friends since their days at the Madeira School. On the drive back home, she was just sort of musing aloud when she said “I think the girls are my Taylor Swift.” I laughed, but I knew what she meant.

This “tour” is a just short two-city jaunt, but keep your eye out for them. And get their new album, Circle of Days.
