A final thought on Dan Snyder

July 22, 2023

I’m trying to think of a public figure in the DMV who has been as consistently reviled as Dan Snyder. The top sports story in yesterday’s Washington Post detailed the relief and joy felt by every sports fan at Snyder’s no longer being the Redskins/Commander’s owner. He effectively ruined the Washington  franchise single handedly over his 20-year stewardship.

Mayor-for-life Marion Barry had staunch defenders to the end; Trump still has a fervent following. Buffoons, criminals, reprobates, swindlers and bastards galore have populated the region throughout my life here, but none that I can recall who’ve had the contempt and loathing heaped on them like Snyder.

Maybe the Beltway snipers?  Whatever, good riddance
